At Klee bar, Singapore. By Jasmin.

Klee bar, Portsdown Road, Singapore

I have a confession: I’m an absolute lightweight when it comes to alcohol and caffeine. My body apparently does not enjoy depressants or stimulants. The former makes me incredibly sleepy. Last new year’s eve, I downed half a Yägerbomb after dinner and fell dead asleep on the floor of a tent, only to wake half an hour before 2009 started. Still, it doesn’t stop me from liking classy bars and live music. My lovely cousin, also named Amy, brought us to Klee on my last weekend in Singapore, and I had a fabulous alcohol-free time.

Kids movies are the best. I mean, where else would you see a girl walk into a wardrobe and into another world or have a crab tell you that the seaweed is always greener down under the sea? It’s where the impossible is possible and sometimes out of this world stories are considered normal. But within all of that, there’s always a lesson to be learned or at least a very human moment that we all, even when our youth eludes us, can appreciate.
